Pat McCormack has devoted the last 25 years of his life to the study and practice of musical composition, engineering and performing. A graduate of the famed Musician's Institute in Hollywood, California, Pat first gained prominence by placing in the top five in the LA Guitarist of the Year Competition in 1988. (Out of a field of 400 contestants in talent rich Southern California)

He immediately followed up with the scoring and recording of 3 surfing/sport feature films which were released worldwide and aired on ESPN. This experience, coupled with the inspired "thrill ride" soundtracks that are currently in use at the Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk have helped Pat to cultivate the surf rock style that he incorporates into his music today.

Continuing to perform in and around Northern California in the late 80's, Pat's talent was soon noticed by rock guitar legend Ronnie Montrose who was so impressed that he asked Pat to join his band and tour, playing to sold out, guitar enthused audiences for the next couple of years.

After the successful tour with the classic rock legend, he was then asked to join the band "Kurth and Taylor" who was at that time also known as "Eddie Maine and the Idle Rich" on ABC TV's "General Hospital".

Pat spent ten years as a member of Kurth and Taylor which has included appearing, performing and even a little acting on multiple network TV shows. The band has also toured all over the United States raising hundreds of thousands of dollars for children's charities.

As a member of K&T Pat was invited to contribute his guitar work to the song "Barefoot Ballet" which went on to win an Emmy for best original song.

In 2004, Pat was asked to compose and record for Disney / Soap Network's National TV show "1Day With".

Soon after finishing his stint as composer on "1 Day With", Pat was approached by a major Hollywood producer who had heard his work on the show and asked him to compose and produce the theme music for "The American Producers Guild Award Show". The event brought out Hollywood's " A-list" of Stage, Screen and Television.

Over the past few years Pat has made the first call lists of some of the Bay Area's top clubs, namely the Catalyst in Santa Cruz where in the past year alone he has successfully opened shows for such major act's as David Lee Roth, Foreigner, Blue Oyster Cult and UFO among others.

His most unusual credit to date came about in early 2005 with the composing and producing of the theme music for a new featured thrill ride at the Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk. Pat created three themes for the "Double Shot", the newest and tallest ride at the famed seaside theme park. His music is also used for the newest ride "Wipe Out" as well.

Pat has just completed work on his newest surf rock solo album entitled "Risk Thrill Factor".
